Experience international regattas with IN2THEBLUE. What does an international regatta actually look like? Well, first of all we have to get there. So we either deliver the boat together or meet at the start port. Of course we then have one of our professional regatta skippers on site, and together you prepare the boat for the race, agree who does what, take care of provisioning and, of course, train before the race. And then it is into the race – a one, two or five day event. So if you feel like experiencing regatta sailing at international level, just check our dates and get in touch.
Information
Race with us! Each regatta offers a unique experience through diverse formats and conditions. However, the basic procedure remains the same. The meeting point is the starting port, and for those who want to be there from the beginning, there is the option to transfer the yacht with us to the starting port. After the welcome and safety briefing, the preparatory training begins, where all positions and tasks on board are discussed. With the start signal of the regatta, we will be at sea for a few days on average, depending on the program and duration of the respective race.

Barcolana
The Barcolana is the largest and probably most colorful sailing regatta in the world. The regatta is held every October in Trieste. Here, professionals, amateurs, and sailing fans meet on the same starting line and to celebrate in the city. The Barcolana regatta is listed in the Guinness World Records book as “The largest sailing race in the world”. 3,000 participating sailboats and over 300,000 people celebrating in Trieste are enough reasons not to miss this event.
Rolex Middle Sea Race
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a regatta around Sicily. The race is organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC). The Rolex Middle Sea Race has a length of 606 nautical miles with a start and finish in Malta, and since 1978, it has led the sailing fleet counter-clockwise around the Italian island of Sicily, including the Aeolian and Aegadian Islands. This regatta attracts large racing yachts to win the prestigious Line Honours (First Ship Home).
Velenziana
The only sailing event in the world where participants can arrive with full sails in St. Mark’s Basin.
The Veleziana, a classic regatta organized by the Compagnia della Vela, winds its way along a course that starts from the sea off the Lido of Venice and ends in the lagoon in front of St. Mark’s Square. It is not just a fair, but a regatta that requires special tactics, precisely because it takes place in a completely different environment and under very different conditions: the transition from the sea to the lagoon with its currents, narrows, and wind shifts.

Austrian Offshore Championship
The National Championships are the ultimate test of strength for Austria’s best sailors: here, champions gather to prove their skills in various classes and disciplines. Whether it’s about thrilling regattas, challenging manoeuvres, or tactical masterstrokes, this event promises high tension and first-class sailing. Be there as we compete with the best sailors for the coveted title of National Champion and conquer the waves of Austrian waters!
The Jabuka Regatta
Organized by the Tijat Sailing Club from Vodice, this legendary offshore regatta takes sailors on the 110-mile route from Vodice to the island of Jabuka and back. With an evening start time to the magical island of Jabuka, this regatta is characterized by strong winds and exhaustingly long sailing. The Jabuka Regatta takes place in mid-November and, thanks to the unpredictable winter weather on the open sea, is the most extreme Croatian regatta. While only 15 teams participated in the first edition, it is becoming increasingly popular each year with predominantly international participants and over 100 sailboats!
Mountain Sailor Cup
The GSC is one of the regattas of the Austrian Offshore Trophy. The 10 First 35 yachts compete in the one-design class with spinnaker for the GSC trophy, while all other boats race in the ORC class with headsails. In this class, a separate one-design group scoring is carried out for the Bavaria 46. The OD is included in the group due to the very small measurement certificate deviation in the decimal range. Should very close decisions have an impact on the placement, this decision will be overturned by the race committee. In the ORC class, the measurement certificate applies to all boats, and this placement is also reported to the OeSV for the Austrian Offshore Trophy.
The Fiumanka Regatta
The Fiumanka Regatta is a June event that celebrated its 25th edition this year. The largest sailing regatta in Rijeka combines sailing, sport, but also economic promotion and entertainment. This regatta is the first public event that successfully cleared the port of Rijeka for a sporting event! Fiumanka is the only regatta in Croatia that is fully televised, charges no entry fee for participants, and rewards all participants, regardless of their result. Its humanitarian side distributes donations to various organizations, children’s hospitals, and sports clubs.
The 1,000 Islands Regatta
The Rijeka Sailing Club and the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club organize a long and strenuous regatta from Rijeka to Tivat at the end of September, passing by 1,000 Adriatic islands on its course. The regatta consists of two legs, and sailors can choose whether to compete in the first, second, or both. The first leg starts from Rijeka to Unije, Susak, Premuda, Dugi Otok, Kornat, Vis, Lastovo, and Sveti Andrija and ends in the Porto Montenegro Marina in Tivat. The route rewards sailors with unparalleled beauty. After the awards ceremony for the first leg, the fleet starts in the opposite direction back to Rijeka on the same course!
Fastnet Race
The Fastnet Race is one of the most challenging and prestigious sailing races in the world, held every two years. The course leads from Cowes on the Isle of Wight, England, to the Fastnet Rock off the southwest coast of Ireland, and back to Cherbourg. In total, we cover a distance of about 690 nautical miles and must face the challenges of rough seas and changing winds. Hardly any regatta has such a great mystique as the Rolex Fastnet Race, which was first held in 1925. Having participated at least once in the legendary race through the Irish Sea is one of the great “must-haves” in many sailing careers, whether professional or amateur.
