SRC Exam in Punat (Croatia)
After completing your online training, you can take your SRC exam in Punat on the island of Krk. The exam is organized and conducted by in2theblue and includes:
- Theoretical assessment
- Practical radio communication test
- Use of real VHF/DSC equipment

Frequently Asked Questions about the SRC Maritime Radio Certificate Online
The SRC (Short Range Certificate) is the internationally recognised maritime radio certificate for short-range communication within the GMDSS and is issued by the RYA. With in2theblue, you complete the theory flexibly online and then take the official exam on site in Punat. This gives you the authorisation to operate VHF marine radio and DSC equipment correctly.
You work through the theory online at your own pace and then attend the official exam date in person in Punat. The exam includes a theoretical part as well as a practical radio test using real VHF/DSC equipment. This way, you combine flexible learning with a thorough on-site exam.
The course is aimed at sailors and anyone who wants to obtain a professional maritime radio qualification. The minimum age for the SRC radio exam is 16. No prior knowledge is required—you will learn all the basics as part of the course.
You will cover operation of the VHF marine radio, the basics of GMDSS, and distress, urgency and safety communications. You will also learn Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and practical radio procedures. The focus is on being able to communicate by radio safely and correctly in an emergency.
Included are the SRC online course, the RYA VHF handbook, and the certificate issued by the RYA. The course and exam take place in Punat. The RYA exam fee is a separate cost item and is not included in the course price.
