Students@Sea is an international regatta by students for students. For one week, university teams from all over Europe meet in Punat (Croatia) to train, sail and compete against each other on modern Dehler 38 SQ yachts. Alongside exciting races, you can look forward to training sessions, a shared race camp in the harbour, evenings with teams from different countries, and plenty of sailing fun.
Whether you’re experienced regatta sailors or getting your first taste of racing – Students@Sea offers you a unique mix of sport, team spirit and an international community.

Costs

The entry fee is €3,500 per boat, plus a transit log of €350. The price includes overnight stays on board, daily breakfast and a shared crew dinner.
The security deposit is €5,000 and can be covered via deposit insurance, e.g. with our partner FAIRWINDS.blue. Specifically for this event, we offer a partial cash or credit card deposit (€1,000) in combination with a Damage Agreement that does not require any additional deposit of the remaining security deposit.

PARTICIPATION

At least 75% of the team must consist of people who are enrolled at a university or are alumni.
A team consists of 5 to 7 crew members, with one person designated as skipper.

TRAINING

At the start of the event, there will be three shared training days.
This gives all teams the opportunity to get to know the boats and gel as a crew.

Boat class

Sailing will take place on Dehler 38 SQ race cruisers. The boats are allocated by draw at the start and are only swapped between races if there are more teams than boats (7 boats available).
Racing will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) of World Sailing
2025–2028, the General Sailing Instructions of the ÖSV (ASA),
this Notice of Race, and the supplementary Sailing Instructions.

Accommodation and social programme

All teams can stay overnight on their boats. All boats are berthed together at Marina Punat. As always, there will be a varied social programme after training / regatta days – including the closing party.
