Frequently asked questions about sailing manoeuvre training

Sailing manoeuvre training is all about perfect trim and executing manoeuvres safely. You’ll learn how to sail your boat optimally in a wide range of wind and wave conditions, including the basics of aerodynamics and boat physics.

It is aimed at sailors who want to improve their technique in manoeuvres like tacking and gybing and master sail trim in different conditions. It’s ideal if you’ve already been on board and want to specifically refine your skills.

You’ll practice sailing technique and how to use trimming equipment, correct winch handling, crew leadership, and safety on board, as well as clean execution of tacking and gybing. This also includes using the traveller, sheet blocks, and reefing systems, and achieving the perfect trim for changing wind and wave conditions.

Yes, special gennaker training is available on request. You can find more about this on our skipper training gennaker page โ€“ just get in touch if you’d like to include this topic in your training.
