BFA Inland Sailing Certificate (AUT)
With the completed BFA-Binnen (A-Schein), you can charter sailboats of various sizes on inland waters and also take part in regattas on inland or sea areas.
But even if you’re planning to do sea sailing training, the BFA-Binnen is exactly right for you. The theoretical training and examination are provided by our partners Boats2Sail in Lower Austria or Sailfy by Niko Resch in Carinthia.
FB2 Sailing Certificate (AUT)
The FB2 is the officially recognised certificate of competence for operating motor and sailing yachts in coastal waters. Start your adventure with us and learn to sail at sea.
Our partner Blue-2.at has specialised in sound and professional training in sailing for over 10 years. Together we offer a comprehensive and highest-quality training programme of sailing courses. With didactically excellently trained sailing instructors, we’ll guide you step by step all the way to your practical exam. You can complete theory courses conveniently online from home.
SKS Sailing Certificate (D)
The German SKS is the officially recognised (voluntary) certificate for operating recreational boats up to 12 nm from the coast and is required by many charter companies as proof of competence. At our base in Punat, we offer the practical exam for the SKS.
The theoretical training and examination for these sailing courses are provided by our partner Ritzau Yachting.
RYA Yachtmaster (UK)
As a certified RYA Training Centre, we offer RYA training. The RYA Yachtmaster Offshore/Coastal is a challenging personal goal for you as an experienced skipper who wants to develop your skills further. This is not a predefined course. We will spend time refreshing and refining your skills to pass the Yachtmaster Offshore exam. This exam lasts between 8 and 12 hours per candidate and is conducted by an external examiner. SRC Marine Radio Certificate
As a recognised RYA Training Centre, we offer courses for the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) SRC certificate for marine radio (GMDSS). Your advantages are no unnecessary theory, but practice on modern VHF radios as used on yachts. Duration only 1 or 2 days, exam always immediately at the end of the course, followed by issue of the certificate by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).

Frequently Asked Questions About Sailing Courses
With us—together with our partners—you get the full range: the BFA inland sailing certificate (A-Schein, Austria) for inland waters, the Austrian certificates FB2 and FB3 as well as the German certificates SKS and SSS for sailing at sea, plus RYA training up to Yachtmaster and the RYA SRC radio certificate. Together with the Blue-2.at Sailing Academy, we are the largest German-speaking sailing school in the Adriatic.
For inland waters, the BFA-Binnen (A-Schein) is your entry point. If you want to sail at sea, in Austria you choose the FB2 (coastal) or for greater distances the FB3—or in Germany the SKS (up to 12 nautical miles from the coast, required by many charter companies) or for trips further out the SSS. If you’re looking for an internationally recognised certificate, RYA training up to Yachtmaster is your route. If you’re unsure which path suits you, we’re happy to advise you personally.
You complete the theory conveniently online from home: depending on the certificate, through our partners Blue-2.at (FB2/FB3), Ritzau Yachting (SKS/SSS) or Boats2Sail and Sailfy by Niko Resch (BFA-Binnen). The practical training takes place at sea; you take the exam either at our base in Marina Punat (Croatia) or through our partners in Austria.

For independent yacht operation, an SRC marine radio certificate is essential. As a recognised RYA Training Centre, we offer the course for the RYA SRC certificate (GMDSS): you complete the theory conveniently online from home, and with us you get real practice on modern VHF radios as used on yachts. The course lasts only 1 to 2 days, the exam takes place directly at the end of the course, and the certificate is issued by the Royal Yachting Association.
We are the largest German-speaking sailing school in the Adriatic—training is primarily in German, and our team on site in Punat also supports you in English. So you’ll feel well looked after from theory through to the exam.
