The step from family hierarchy to the hierarchy on a sailing boat can sometimes be a bumpy one. We have a special training course for you as a family, with your children. Even young children – ideally from about eight years old – can take part. We advise you as a family, show you how to run a manoeuvre properly, how to get your command language right, and how to enjoy your sailing holiday relaxed and stress-free. In 3.5 days we go through the most important manoeuvres for handling a yacht. Coming alongside, entering the marina and berthing in a box, sailing manoeuvres, all the way to man overboard. Along the way you learn which positions make sense and how to lead these manoeuvres well with clear commands. It’s a sailing training that combines adventure, togetherness and learning for the whole family. Children learn sailing in a playful way, while parents develop their own skills and you’re out together as a crew.
Children can take part from 8 years. They actively take part and take on small tasks on board appropriate to their age, so that sailing becomes an experience for everyone.
No, no prior knowledge is needed for this training. You can start as a family without any sailing experience and will be guided step by step.
The skipper training lasts 3 days and takes place in a small group with a maximum of 6 people. This leaves enough time for each family and individual attention for young and old.
You learn sailing basics and sailing manoeuvres that are explained in an age-appropriate way, plus harbour manoeuvres, safety on board as well as teamwork and responsibility. The children are allowed to actively take part in steering.
Included are supervision by a German-speaking, liability-insured trainer, access to the learning platform Skipper360.at, overnight accommodation on the boat as well as discounts for later yacht charters.
The base is Marina Punat on the island of Krk in Croatia, a sheltered and family-friendly sailing area. We run the sailing school together with Blue-2.at.
In addition to the training fee, there is the base fee, which includes tourist tax, diesel and cleaning; you can find the current prices on the course page or on request.
No, you don’t need a license to participate in the training. We pick you up exactly at your level.
Yes, our instructors are German-speaking and accompany you throughout the entire training.
Training times depend on your start day. For a Saturday start: Sat 2 PM – 5 PM, Sun 9 AM – 5 PM, Mon 9 AM – 5 PM, Tue 9 AM – 12 PM. For a Tuesday start: Tue 5 PM – 6:30 PM, Wed 9 AM – 5 PM, Thu 9 AM – 5 PM, Fri 9 AM – 5 PM.
You stay overnight on board the boat – the overnight stay is included in the training.
You can park directly in Marina Punat or at the marina’s gravel car park. Parking with a motorhome is allowed in the marina, but staying overnight in the motorhome is not. You can find out the current parking fees directly at the marina.
During family training, the children are supervised exclusively during training times, not beyond that.
