SKIPPER TRAINING & HARBOUR MANOEUVRES
We learn from mistakes. That’s why during our skipper training we deliberately allow mistakes to happen, so you can properly assess comparable situations in future, avoid them, and respond confidently. Our skipper training programmes are designed so you can learn the fundamentals, practise at a relaxed pace, and train your skills intensively. Small crews, experienced instructors, perfectly equipped training yachts, and a friendly atmosphere are the recipe for skipper training you’ll actually enjoy!
Interactive learning materials, simulators, and videos guarantee you comprehensive preparation for your harbour manoeuvre and skipper training.
PRACTICE PASSAGE
On a practice passage you have the chance to put your theoretical knowledge into practice while one of our experienced skippers supports you – combining manoeuvre training, skipper training, and sailing holiday. You’ll also clock up miles towards your certificate along the way.
Because at some point it’s time to cast off the lines yourself and be the captain of your own destiny at sea. But until then, we’ll be there to guide you.
SAIL TRIM TRAINING
Our sail trim training offers intensive training on topics such as trimming equipment on board and the physics of sailing, to execute tacks and gybes as safely and effectively as possible. Perfect trim for different wind and wave conditions, sailing the perfect upwind course, confidence on downwind courses, handling storm jibs, reefing, and hiking out are all part of the training programme.
Our boats are equipped with high-quality lines from Robline and OneSails sails, so the finest trim adjustments are immediately noticeable.
Safety Training
The World Sailing Safety Course provides both racing sailors and cruising sailors with the necessary skills and knowledge to prevent and manage emergencies at sea. While this course meets the training requirements for many offshore races, it’s also suitable for those planning bluewater passages who might not have immediate assistance available.
We’ve made it our goal to give as many sailors as possible insight into how emergency situations at sea unfold. We warmly invite you to practise for the worst with us and take part in a one-day or two-day World Sailing safety training course.
