With HERidian we are opening a new chapter: the first all-female mid-distance offshore race in the HERizon series. An event entirely by women, for women. 300 nautical miles from Punat to Trieste, on which we show what we are made of.
Whether you’re an offshore newcomer or an experienced gennaker trimmer: here you sail in an environment that encourages rather than judges. We bring together female sailors from all over the world to learn from one another, take responsibility for our crew and grow together.

TRAIN & RACE
In two days of training you will not only get to know and handle your yacht better, you will also grow together as a crew.
You will be supported by your skippers and the coaches of IN2THEBLUE.
OUR Boats
We sail a one-design fleet of up to 8 current Dehler 38 SQ performance yachts – fair, sporty and demanding.
All boats are equipped with racing sails (performance sails & race gennaker). Perfect conditions for intensive training and a demanding offshore race.
Your Event
Sat 2 Oct | Arrival & check-in in Punat, training
Check-in, boat handover, crew allocation and safety briefing. Casting off for training.
Sun 3 Oct | Training
Breakfast together
Training session: crew roles & communication, manoeuvre and gennaker training, trim.
After training: debriefing plus tactics and watch system briefing.
From 20:00 official opening ceremony
Mon 4 Oct – Thu 7 Oct | Race days
Category 3 offshore race over approximately 300 nautical miles from Punat to Trieste. Navigation, time management and route planning around the clock – in a watch system, day and night.
Fri 8 Oct | Finish, prize-giving & party
Finish line right in the middle of the Barcolana buzz, directly off the Trieste waterfront. Followed by the prize-giving and closing party together with the Barcolana. The fastest boat wins an entry for the Barcolana! For everyone else we offer the option of a discounted single ticket.

Frequently Asked Questions
For women with a passion for sailing – as a full crew or as individual entrants, beginners and advanced sailors alike. Minimum crew: 6 women per boat, ideally 7-8. Offshore experience is an advantage but not a requirement: the two training days will prepare you.
Up to 8 identical Dehler 38 SQ performance yachts – fair, sporty and demanding. All boats are equipped with racing sails including a race gennaker.
On board your boat. Breakfast is included on 3 and 4 October. If there are more participants than berths available on the boats, the additional participants will be accommodated ashore or on other sleeping boats.
Boat and berth, two training days, professional female coaches, race committee & jury, regatta entry fees, 2x breakfast, technical crew shirt, lifevest, berth close to Trieste, media coverage of the event, prize-giving & closing party as well as the complete organisation and event coordination.
Safety first. The race committee and jury decide on site about the start, the route and any postponements. If we have to wait, we’ve prepared an exciting alternative programme.
€ 8,000 for the whole boat, or a single berth at € 1,350. Plus the charterbase fee: € 90 per person for a single berth (transit log, deposit insurance, tourist tax, diesel, cleaning) or € 70 per person for the whole boat (transit log, tourist tax, cleaning).
